CREDIT RISK OFFICER (PRIVATE BANKING)

Job Description

This credit risk officer resides with Risk Control Department and is responsible for managing credit matters, especially secured loan portfolio, of private banking customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with relevant internal stakeholders to establish and maintain private banking credit policy and procedures
  • Be responsible for the setup and daily credit operations of private banking secured loan products, mainly mortgage real estate lending and investment portfolio financing
  • Review and approval of customer credit applications, ensure approvals are in compliance with internal credit policy and procedures, approved terms and conditions as well as local regulations
  • Review credit facility documentation to ensure credit terms comply with credit approvals and term sheets
  • Post-lending monitoring of credit limits, facility utilisation, margin requirements, collateral quality and portfolio performance
  • Conduct secured loan risk stress testing and necessary internal and external reporting, including head-office and local regulatory required reporting
  • Liaise with IT and operations team on credit related system requirements and operational matters
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and standards and ensure full audit readiness at all times

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will be a college degree holder with at least 5 years working experience in the credit department of private banking or wealth management domain
  • Detailed knowledge on the structure and end-to-end process of secured loan products, especially mortgage real estate lending
  • Hands-on experience with relevant MAS rules, regulations and notices on secured loan products, e.g. MAS Notice 635, 643, 645 and MAS guidelines on credit risk management
  • Solid understanding of secured loan market practice, statistically concepts and data analysis
  • Preferably with exposure to private banking operational risk management
  • Preferably with knowledge of treasury and investment products
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Mandarin
  • Proficient in MS Excel/Access, preferably with knowledge of TAP system
  • Good team play as well as ability to work independently

Salary: $5,000 to $8,000 Per Month
