BANK BUSINESS CONTROL & BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP SPECIALIST (CONTRACT)

The Business Control Unit (BCU) is a first Line of Defence (1st LoD) function within the front office Chief Operating Office (COO) division created during the implementation of the Three Line of Defence (3LoD) programme. Its primary objective is to support the front office in executing Non-Financial Risk framework for its business line. The team is principally responsible for identification and mitigation of non-financial risks (regulatory, conduct and systemic), supporting the operations of an efficient supervisory and conduct framework and ensuring the governance of a business’ audit portfolio as well as driving Change the Bank initiatives to support the control framework.

In addition to working closely with the business heads, the group’s reach and interaction is broad – including engagement with the Divisional Control Officer (DCO), those functions forming the Second Line of Defence (2nd LoD) and 3rd LoD (Group Audit).  You will be supporting the global BCU function in various capacities and in turn be supported by Global SMEs from BCU who are primarily based out of London.

Your key responsibilities:

Key Responsibility – take ownership and accountability for the remediation Control Book of Work (BoW) relevant to GEM Asia – specifically including:

  • Audit Findings to resolution
  • Read across observations
  • Compliance Testing Findings
  • Accurate & meaningful MI on status reporting

Your skills and experience:

  • 10 years of experience within Banking, ideally with knowledge of the FIC business and non-financial risk management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as dealing with senior management on a daily basis
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to formulate clearly and present information in a compelling manner
  • Project management experience with the capability to provide status & risk reporting to senior management
  • Being able to question the status quo business practice / existing control framework
  • Highly motivated and comfortable operating in an environment with imperfect information
  • Comfortable with MS Office suite – particularly Excel
  • Individual contributor

Salary: $15,000 to $20,000 Per Month
