BANK COMPLIANCE AVP

Job Description:

  • To provide sound and timely compliance advice to Branch Senior Management and local business units on Singapore laws and regulations (as they change from time to time), to assist the Branch manage its statutory compliance risks and ensure that its activities are in line with Singapore laws regulations and best practices as advised by the relevant agencies
  • To oversee and advise on Branch compliance with Singapore laws and regulations, including

          - its personal data protection risk management policies;

          - its FATCA ( Foreign Accounts Tax Compliance Act) related policies; and

          - its securities and insider trading policies.

  • To conduct regular periodic compliance reviews to monitor that the Branch operates in compliance with Singapore laws and regulations and escalate anomalies to Senior Management
  • Perform CDD counterchecks for CDD conducted by Credit Investment Departments and Treasury Department on their counterparties before Senior Management approval for assurance of compliance with Singapore laws, regulations and relevant guidelines
  • To revise the compliance manuals of L&C Department in accordance with Singapore law
  • To review the Branch’s internal policies, procedures and guidelines in order to ensure they are in accordance with regulatory compliance requirements of Singapore law
  • Organise and conduct general compliance training to Branch employees as necessary
  • Perform regular on-line checks for updates to legislation, MAS notices and UN Sanctions lists on prohibited persons and daily checks for ABS and MAS circulars
  • To ensure proper maintenance and updates of L&C’s compliance manuals, cabinets,   files   and   documentation   and assist in the general administration of L&C to ensure its smooth operation
  • To work as a team in L&C Department and provide support and undertake any other work-related duties of L&C, as needed
  • To perform any other duties that the HOD and Branch Senior Management may reasonably assign from time to time

Job Requirements:

  •  Possess a recognised University Degree, preferably in Finance/Business/Accountancy
  • Min 5 years' relevant experience in a Financial Institution
  • Prior experience in Compliance and CDD role
  • Good knowledge of local regulatory requirements: Banking Act, MAS Notices, FATCA, etc.
  • Possess strong analytical, good interpersonal and writing skills

Salary: $6,000 to $11,000 Per Month
